ChatGPT, Find Me Rich ESL Parents
Faster Than a Google Search. Almost As Charming as You.

Ever wish you had a personal assistant who works 24/7, doesn’t need coffee breaks, and never rolls their eyes at your questions?
Meet ChatGPT. Turns out, it’s not just good for lesson planning and writing dad jokes—it can also help you find students for your online ESL classes!
There are two ways you can use it:
1️⃣ Real-Time Search – ChatGPT now has a search engine to pull fresh info from the internet.
2️⃣ Classic ChatGPT Mode – Ask it specific questions and get tailored advice.
I went with Option #2, and it felt like taking the Matrix’s red pill—suddenly, hidden parent groups, foreign social media platforms, and ESL posting pages were everywhere. Here’s a sneak peek at our Q&A session:
I Asked: What’s the best way to market ESL classes to non-English speaking students?
ChatGPT Said: (Shortened for your sanity)

Social Media – Join Facebook groups, post short videos on Instagram/TikTok, and use WeChat (China) or VK (Russia) to reach parents.
Online Platforms – List your services on Preply, Italki, Superprof, or Verbling (warning: platform fees apply).
China-Specific Marketing – Use Xiaohongshu, Zhihu, and Douyin to target Chinese parents.
SEO & Content – Write blog posts with searchable keywords and create a YouTube channel to showcase lessons.
Messaging Apps & Forums – Engage in WhatsApp/Telegram groups and parenting sites like Mumsnet.
Partnerships & Referrals – Team up with local schools and offer parent referral discounts.
At the end, ChatGPT hit me with, “Want country-specific tips?” and, like a true explorer, I typed: YES!
What happened next? A gold mine of info. It broke things down by age group, region, and even best-paying countries for ESL tutors. Some of the gems included:
✅ Best ways to find elementary-aged students in Europe
✅ Which countries pay the highest for online ESL tutors (hint: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are $$$)
✅ How to market to high-paying parents in these countries (specific ads, posts, and even website tagline ideas!)
✅ How to find and join WhatsApp & Telegram groups
✅ A script to introduce yourself in these groups—without sounding like a pushy salesperson
So, if you're looking for a smarter way to market your classes, give ChatGPT a spin. It’s like having a business coach, marketing guru, and research assistant all in one—minus the hefty consulting fee. 😉
